I have been a school-based counsellor and have worked therapeutically with young people in primary and secondary schools for over 20 years. I have my own private practice and I provide a support service to schools, parents, young adults and children to assist with their emotional wellbeing. I support children with one-to-one or small group sessions to build self-esteem and confidence. My therapeutic approach uses play and creative arts that supports children and young people to explore their thoughts and feelings, express themselves, and make sense of the world around them.
Counselling is a creative opportunity for personal growth. As children and adolescents grow, they are constantly in the process of developing the social skills and emotional intelligence necessary to lead healthy, happy lives. When children experience emotions or engage in behaviours that interfere with their happiness and ability to thrive, they may benefit from counselling.
